Former TCR UK title contender Max Hart will make his debut in this year’s 2024 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, competing in the legendary Macau Guia Race on November 14-17.
Hart, who was a contender for the TCR UK Title for three years, from 2020 to 2022, will compete in his Hyundai N Z.Speed run Hyundai Elantra N TCR. Max joins fellow former TCR UK drivers Isaac Smith and Lewis Brown in making the step up to the TCR World Tour.
2024 marks the second time that Max will compete at Macau, where last year he took part in the Macau Touring Car Cup – China Touring Car Championship event, winning the reversed grid race and adding his name to the famous list of Macau race winners.
With over 40 TCR series around the world, the TCR concept has always been about customer racing teams and drivers competing in touring car racing at an affordable level, with the chance to progress to the regional level or to reach the TCR World Tour in competitive machinery.
Having already shown his ability in TCR UK at the wheel of the CUPRA TCR and later the Hyundai i30 N TCR, Hart made the step up to TCR China last year with the Hyundai N Z.Speed squad and getting to grips with the newer Elantra model.
In 2024, Hart is a title contender once more, this time racing in the TCR Asia International Series, staying on board with Hyundai N Z.Speed and showing what he can do with a second year in the Elantra.
Max will be competing with the best touring car drivers in the world as he takes on the streets of Macau for a second year in a row, racing against the likes of former world champions Yann Ehrlacher, Norbert Michelisz, Thed Björk as well as eleven-time Macau race winner Rob Huff.
TCR UK Championship Promoter Stewart Lines praised Max ahead of his debut in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour finale
“It’s fantastic news to see that Max will make his debut in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour and witness another TCR UK driver reach the world level of TCR competition, following on from Isaac Smith and Lewis Brown last year.
“This shows the hard work that Max has put in, showcasing his ability in TCR UK, before moving on to TCR China and TCR Asia, where he has become a race winner and title contender.
“As we work hard to bring on board the next generation of Touring Car drivers into TCR UK, Max, Isaac Smith and Lewis Brown all serve as a shining example that aspiring drivers can move up the TCR ladder and race at the top. I wish Max all the best at Macau.”
