Gregory Saunders is the latest new driver to be announced for the 2025 TCR UK season, where he will make his debut with Capture Motorsport.
Greg will be driving a CUPRA Leon Competicion TCR as he makes his debut in TCR UK this season.
Coming from a two-wheel background where he began his motorsport career in Supercross and Enduro, Greg moved on to race in the Ford Focus Cup in 2022, where he took his first race win.
Greg took part in the 750 Motor Club Roadsports and Enduro championships last year, where he finished in second place in the overall standings, having driven a Capture motorsport run Gen 1 CUPRA TCR.
Whilst he enjoyed the Endurance format, it’s the Sprint format that has his interest, and this is why Greg is now moving to make his TCR UK debut this year.
“I’m really eager to get my TCR UK season underway and excited to be moving up to the championship this year. Having driven the older CUPRA in Endurance events with Capture Motorsport, the chance to race in TCR UK with the Gen2 CUPRA was one I couldn’t pass up,” explained Greg.
“I’ve done some testing in the older CUPRA, however I’ll be getting some seat time in soon with the Gen2 car and I can’t wait to learn more about the car. I love the excitement of TCR UK and I can’t wait to be on the grid, however I know that each weekend will be a new learning experience with the new car.”
TCR UK Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Greg to the championship.
“It’s always good to see new drivers joining the championship and it’s great to see Greg announce his entry for this year. He’s already experienced the thrill of driving a TCR car and now makes the step up to TCR UK for 2025,” explained Stewart.
“Thanks to the measures that we have put in place to reduce the cost for this year, the 2025 grid is building and we are excited to announce more entries ahead of the first race weekend of the season at Donington Park.”
