Finn Leslie will achieve the next step in his motorsport career when he makes his debut in the 2025 TCR UK Touring Car Championship.
The reigning BRSCC Fiesta Junior Mk7 champion has confirmed that he will join the championship next year, driving a Power Maxed Racing run Hyundai i30 N TCR, as part of the 2025 Junior Touring Car Programme.
Racing in karts from the young age of 8 years old, Finn has taken many victories, including winning the prestigious MSA Kartmasters GP in 2022 and finishing in the top six within the British Karting Championships, all in the same year.
Moving into car racing in 2023, where he joined the Fiesta Juniors, Finn won on his debut. He followed up by staying in the same championship for another year, claiming the 2024 Mk7 class title with 4 overall race wins.
Having enjoyed two years of car racing already, Finn will now begin year three as a touring car driver, taking on the challenge of racing in TCR UK, in what will be the first year of his touring car career.
The long-term aim of becoming a touring car driver in TCR UK is something that Finn has worked hard to achieve, and he is excited to make the step up next year.
“I believe TCR UK is the perfect place for me in 2025 as I think the championship is the right stepping stone for me to start my touring car career and will push me to move forward in the future,” he said.
Power Maxed Racing Team Principal Martin Broadhurst welcomes Finn to the team ahead of the 2025 season.
“We are delighted to welcome Finn into the TCR UK Junior program and look forward to working with him in the new year,” said Martin.
“We have a strong background in nurturing young drivers, which I think shows with our record of 4 times Jack Sears champions, making PMR the most successful team in BTCC history for this category. It will be exciting to get started and to see where we are after the first round at Donington Park in March.”
TCR UK Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is delighted at the confirmation of the first junior driver to join TCR UK next year.
“It’s incredibly difficult for young drivers to progress from karts to cars and then make their way up the motorsport ladder. I’m very happy to see that Finn has become the first young driver to be confirmed as part of the Junior Touring Car Programme,” said Stewart.
“Having shown great talent and raw speed in just two years of car racing, I look forward to seeing how Finn performs in his first year as a touring car driver.”
