Andrew Dyer has confirmed that he will take the next step up the British motorsport ladder, by making his debut in the TCR UK season finale this weekend.

Andrew will be driving the ex-Sam Laidlaw Hyundai i30 N TCR, which will be run by his team ARK Motorsports, also making their debut in the championship.

This news means there will be five Hyundai’s on the grid, with Dyer being joined by Stewart Lines for this event, whilst fellow Hyundai outfit JH Racing expand to three cars.

The Pontypridd-based driver has already been in action this year, contesting the Audi TT Cup Racing Championship for the second year in a row, one of the support championships to TCR UK in 2024.

Having raced in the CityCar Cup between 2021 and 2022, where he became the first novice driver to take a race win in the series, Andrew moved up to the Audi TT Cup Racing Championship in 2023 and has expanded the team’s lineup for this year.

Andrew is excited to join the grid for the TCR UK season finale and is clear about what he aims to achieve this weekend.

“I’m so pleased to announce that I’m making my debut this weekend in TCR UK. Having raced in Audi TT’s for the last two seasons, this is a great chance to step up and try out a touring car for the first time,” explains Andrew.

“I’m very grateful to Steve Laidlaw for all his help in getting this together, however, I’m keeping my feet on the ground. My first time in the car will be during the Friday test day, so this weekend is all about learning. If I can take three race finishes, I’ll be very happy.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Andrew and ARK Motorsports to TCR UK.

“The interest in TCR UK continues to grow and it’s great to welcome Andrew and his team to the grid this weekend. The Hyundai is a competitive touring car and has often been the choice of new drivers and teams in the championship, I wish Andrew all the best this weekend.”
