Adam Shepherd has made the switch to Capture Motorsport ahead of the new season after confirming his return to the championship.
Adam will join the already announced Will Beech and Greg Saunders in a third CUPRA Leon Competición TCR.
Having led the Drivers Championship during the first half of last year, Adam remained in title contention until he was plagued by a recurrent fueling issue costing him several wins and ending the year in fifth place in the standings.
Adam has always been a frontrunner in the championship since he joined in 2022 and has reset for the 2025 season.
Already familiar with the CUPRA Leon Competición TCR, where he took four wins last season as well as pole position at Snetterton and Silverstone, the Essex-based driver is eager to get back on track and get racing again.
Working with Capture Motorsport presents the opportunity to work with a new team in what will be his fourth year in TCR UK.
“It was a late decision to be racing again this year, but we are very much looking forward to 2025 and working with Capture Motorsport. We are aiming to take the overall TCR UK 2025 title with as many wins and pole positions as possible,” said Adam.
“I’d like to say a big thanks to Capture Motorsport and the opportunity given to work together getting on the grid and showing what we can all do. I’m confident we will have a good season and will be working hard to bring the team, cars and drivers forwards and up to the front. I’d also like to thank Area Motorsport for the help over the last few years and the success we had together.”
Capture Motorsport’s Leon Pegg is pleased to have Adam join the team for the new season.
“It’s great to have a driver of Adam’s calibre joining the team for 2025, working alongside both Will and Greg as all three drivers work to push the team forward on the TCR UK Grid,” said Leon.
“Having Adam on board means that we can support him in his efforts to try and claim that first TCR UK drivers title.”
TCR UK Championship Promoter Stewart Lines comments on Adams’ return to the championship this year.
“Adam has been one of the front-running drivers from the moment he joined the championship, so it’s good to see him back again this year, this time working with Capture Motorsport,” explained Stewart.
“It’s very clear that Adam knows how to get the best out of a TCR car and has the stats and figures to back that claim up. I wish him all the best ahead of the new season.”
