TCR UK race winner Adam Shepherd has confirmed his place on the grid for the 2024 TCR UK Touring Car Championship.
Ahead of this weekend’s opening rounds at Brands Hatch, Adam will switch to driving a CUPRA Leon Competición TCR that will be run by 2023 Teams Champions Area Motorsport.
Competing in the championship for the last two seasons, Adam has been a front-running driver for Area Motorsport, taking pole position and a race win at Donington Park in 2022 as well as winning the first race at the same venue last year.
Having been in the title hunt for the last two seasons thanks to his fast pace and consistency, Adam now moves to driving a CUPRA Leon Competición TCR, alongside the already-announced Luke Sargeant at Area Motorsport.
Now entering his third season in TCR UK and equipped with the newer CUPRA model, this means that Adam has the best chance yet of achieving more success in 2024.
A change in format for 2024 means that there will be three races across both days of each this of the seven events this year, except Oulton Park, which has two races in one day.
Keeping this in mind, and grateful for the support of his backers, Adam is excited to get on track this weekend.
“I’m excited to get on circuit this week. We have switched over to a Gen2 CUPRA Leon Competición for 2024 running with Area Motorsport and look forward to seeing what we can do. We are a bit up against it time-wise as the first time out in the car is race weekend so we have a lot to learn, but we are confident we can hit the ground running and push to be right at the front,” explained Adam.
