Ryan Bensley will make his long-awaited debut in the TCR UK Touring Car Championship finale at Silverstone this weekend.
The Norfolk-based driver will be behind the wheel of the Motion Motorsport run Lynk & Co 03 TCR, with the team also making the step up to TCR UK for the first time.
Ryan, a former race winner and championship contender in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup, recently tested the Lynk & Co at Donington Park to get to grips with the car as well as prepare for his debut.
With his debut delayed due to a challenging year off track, Ryan is one of a number of drivers who are joining the TCR UK Finale, which is taking place on the International circuit at the home of British motorsport.
Ryan also joins a growing list of Civic Cup drivers who have moved up the ladder to TCR UK, including Bruce Winfield, Jamie Tonks and Alistair Camp, with all three drivers having taken race wins during their time in the championship.
Despite limited running during the test, Ryan is looking forward to making his touring car debut, keeping an eye to what his plans are for next year.
“I’m excited to be making my TCR UK debut with Motion Motorsport in the Lynk & Co 03 TCR this weekend. I am looking forward to driving the car, from the limited running I have had, the car just feels sensational to drive,” explained Ryan.
“With more track time, I know it can be a consistent front-running machine. I’m looking to be on the pace for the finale, so that I can prepare for next year and improve further with the car and the team.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Ryan as he steps up to TCR UK this weekend in the Lynk & Co.
