Sport77 has unveiled its brand-new livery during this year’s Season Launch for the TCR UK Touring Car Championship at Snetterton, along with a new title partner. The team will be called Go-Fix Honda by Sport77 for the 2024 season.

As part of its tie-up with primary sponsor Go-Fix, the team will also employ the services of Alex Jones, who has been announce as development driver for the 2024 season.

After completing a testing programme in the second Honda Civic Type R FK7 TCR, Alex will make his debut in the second half of the year, where he will contest the Goodyear Diamond Trophy.

With his entry confirmed at this year’s Autosport International Show at the Birmingham NEC back in January, team boss Will Powell is excited to welcome Alex on board ahead of the team’s debut in the championship.

“It’s great to welcome Alex Jones and Go-Fix to Sport77 and J.A.S Motorsport and I’m looking forward to competing alongside him in TCR UK. His business Go-Fix Mechanical and Drainage Services continues to go from strength to strength, with a large fleet of vehicles servicing London and the South East. It’s understandable that with limited time available, Alex wants to complete a thorough testing programme before getting behind the wheel to fight for the Goodyear Diamond Trophy in the second half of the season.”

As well as signing as the team’s development driver for the new season, Alex Jones also brings the Go-Fix name back to TCR UK and is looking forward to testing a TCR car regularly ahead of his debut in the second half of the year.

“I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the Honda Civic TCR, this opportunity to drive a front-wheel drive touring car in anger and to get to grips with these amazing cars. Having seen them in action, I knew I wanted to get on the TCR UK grid and be involved,” explained Alex.

“Part of my programme with the team also involves racing in the second half of the season. Having seen how TCR UK has grown in recent seasons, I know that the Goodyear Diamond Trophy is a competitive part of the championship, so I want to be prepared to go out there and give it my best on my debut.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is pleased to see the expanded driver line-up from the Go-Fix Honda by Sport77 team and welcomes Alex Jones to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship.

“it’s great to see a new team joining the TCR UK Grid. Go Fix have got a great brand and have already been involved in other Touring Car championships. Its great to see them embrace the TCR concept and be a part of TCR UK. We wish them all the success during the 2024 season.”
